Who’s ready for summer in Detroit? We can’t wait for strolls along the Riverfront or the chance to dip our toes in the beach at Campus Martius Park.
While we get ready for food trucks and warmer fun, we’re also excited to get out and network. In Metro Detroit, there are a few key anchor events for our growing technology, creative, and entrepreneurship communities. Whether you’re interested in technology, non-profits, social enterprise, design or leadership there’s an opportunity to network and learn at these five upcoming large scale events.
Intermitten - June 4th, Ann Arbor
Intermitten is a 1-day conference focusing on empowering entrepreneurship through inclusion, capital, & connection. Last year, Bamboo was proud to partner and host Intermitten visitors in Detroit. The conference brings together all types of leaders in technology, design, startups, and corporations together to learn and collaborate. This year, the conference is back in it’s hometown of Ann Arbor. Speakers include founders, leaders, venture capitalists and more. Tickets are available now.
Ann Arbor Tech Trek - June 7th, Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor has had quite the growing technology community, and every year it seems to grow bigger. The annual Tech Treck invites Ann Arbor’s technology corporations, startups, accelerators, and other spaces to up their doors to the public to showcase their latest innovations. It’s perfect for anyone curious about Ann Arbor’s tech ecosystem. Washington Street will be a part of “Mobility Row” to spotlight mobility innovation and hosting tech talks. Quicken Loans Demo Day - June 14th, Downtown Detroit
Easily the largest pitch event in our city, Quicken Loan’s Demo Day is back this summer on Friday, June 14th. Each year a hand full of top Detroit small business and startups are chosen to pitch for up to $1 Million in cash and prizes. Often Dan Gilbert invites a founder on stage for an interview and discussion, before the pitch competition begins. We recommend reserving your free ticket early, as it will fill up.
Detroit Nonprofit Day - June 14th & 15th, Detroit
Innovation can expand across sectors. In Detroit, we have a growing non-profit and social enterprise community. This community is gathering together for the second annual Detroit Nonprofit Day, a day full of workshops and networking hosted by Bamboo Detroit, MP Consulting Group, and the University of Detroit Mercy. This year, the event kicks off at Co.Act Detroit’s non-profit innovation center. Tickets are limited and the day is jam packed with great in-depth workshops spanning fund development, innovative program design, and more. Make sure to grab a spot now!
Detroit Startup Week - June 17th -June 21st, Detroit
It’s back! Detroit Startup Week is one of our favorite weeks of the year. This community-led week long conference brings together keynote speakers, exciting happy hours, and workshops to showcase the hustle from the heart soul that makes up Detroit. Last year’s event brought over 10,000 attendees to Downtown Detroit. All events are free but you must register here and then you can build your schedule for Detroit Startup Week here. Every day has different track themes kicking off Mobility Monday, followed by technology, female founders, social entrepreneurship, design, and more. It’s a free week so make sure you come out at least one day!
